Virtual Hallway - Nurse Practitioner Onboarding & Platform Demo

The Nova Scotia Health Authority and Virtual Hallway have announced a collaboration to connect Nurse Practitioners with Specialists for rapid peer-to-peer phone consultations.

Adult Mental Health Practice Support Program

The Primary Health Care and Chronic Disease Management Network, Nova Scotia Health, is hosting the Adult Mental Health Practice Support Program in the spring of 2022. The program provides training and support for family physicians and nurse practitioners in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with mild to moderate mental health concerns. It consists of three half-day virtual learning sessions which will be held from 1:00 – 4:30 pm on May 4, May 25 and June 15. Registration is required. Click here for additional information.

Registrants will need to confirm with their management team around taking the time away from practice to join the sessions. They don’t need to complete the education approval form.

This on-demand online learning program is offered through Innovations for Active Healing, and is accredited AMA PRA with category 1 credits, which is recognized by Canadian Colleges.

  • Comparing and contrast the evidence related to non-surgical treatment options vs association guidelines
  • Examine the efficacy of hyaluronic acid (HA) injections in patients with osteoarthritis (OA) of the knee in delaying total knee replacement
  • Explore non-surgical treatment alternatives for knee OA

Ongoing Asynchronous eLearning




The Canadian Coalition for Seniors’ Mental Health (CCSMH) is pleased to let you know that free, asynchronous, accredited eLearning modules on Cannabis and Older Adults (English version) are now available.  The French modules will be available Spring 2022.  

Here's what you need to know:  

  1. The target audiences are physicians, nurse practitioners, other healthcare providers and healthcare students.  
  2. Examples of topics include: evidence for cannabis as treatment; medico-legal considerations; how to talk to older adults about cannabis; drug interactions; adverse events, and; safer cannabis use.   
  3. Each eLearning module is individually accredited (MOC, MainPro+) so you can do one, a few or all of them for up to a total of 6.75 hours/credits. 
  4. Asynchronous learning allows you to pick the best times for you to complete the modules.
